From Passion to Profession: The Birth of Surprise Me Events

I used to love arranging surprise parties for my friends. It gave me such a thrill to see the excitement and happiness of the birthday person upon seeing all the arrangements. That’s when I realized: planning surprise events for special occasions was truly my passion. It energized me and brought so much positivity into my life. Even when I entered the IT world and became busy, my passion didn’t fade. I joined the office’s fun group, helping plan events for colleagues, which kept my interest alive.

A Professional Leap: Founding Surprise Me Events

In 2023, three of us decided to give it another shot, this time professionally. Surprise Me Events was born with the combined efforts of Rozmin Shaikh, Pooja Jakhal, and Namrata Sinha. Rozmin brings exceptional vision and creativity to every event. Pooja excels at managing finances and ensuring we stay on track, while Namrata excels in client relations, ensuring expectations are met.

Turning a Hobby into a Business

In 2018, during a casual coffee break with friends, six of us discovered a shared passion for event planning. We thought, “Why not try event planning?” What began as a side hobby—organizing functions for family friends—soon turned into real client work. The feedback we received was overwhelmingly positive, and we started realizing we could meet real needs. Everything grew gradually, but when COVID hit, we took a break.

Rebuilding Momentum: New Beginnings Post-COVID

Our first event post-relaunch was a clubhouse birthday décor in July, and from there, the momentum continued with school events, exhibitions, and carnivals. Since then, we’ve been a part of society events, haldi and sangeet functions, naming ceremonies, engagements, and many more special occasions. We’re just getting started, and we’re excited for what’s to come.
