Dr Supriya Navale Raut
Living the Dream: A Journey Through Ayurveda In today’s fast-paced world, unhealthy eating habits and disrupted lifestyles often lead to a host of ailments, ranging from minor issues to serious diseases, affecting both physical and mental health. For many, finding holistic and sustainable solutions has become more critical than ever. Ayurveda, with its 4,000-year-old legacy, offers a path to balance, wellness, and healing. I’m Dr. Supriya Abhijeet Raut, an Ayurvedic doctor practicing Ayurveda and Panchakarma therapy for the past seven years. Becoming a doctor was more than just a career choice for me—it was my childhood dream.
This aspiration was nurtured by my parents, especially my father, who always encouraged me to pursue this path. Growing up in a middle-class family, I saw my father, a police officer, work tirelessly to support our family. My mother, a homemaker, managed our home with love and resilience. As the youngest of three siblings, I was fortunate to have a family that valued education and empowerment. My father, in particular, emphasized the importance of women becoming self-reliant and achieving their dreams. Because of my father’s government job, we moved frequently, and I often found myself adapting to new schools and environments. Despite these challenges, I remained focused on my goal. I completed my 10th grade with determination and chose the Science stream for my higher secondary education. Encouraged by my parents, I took the medical entrance exam and was thrilled to secure admission to the Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) program at Yashwant Ayurvedic College in Kolhapur. The world of Ayurveda captivated me from the very beginning. Its ancient wisdom, steeped in holistic principles, offered a refreshing perspective on health and wellness. The BAMS curriculum was rigorous and enlightening, covering a wide range of subjects including Charak Samhita, Sushruta Samhita, gynecology, pediatrics, surgery, and medicine. Beyond theory, the course emphasized practical learning through daily clinical postings, providing hands-on experience in diagnosing and treating patients. After five and a half years of dedicated study, I graduated as a qualified Ayurvedic doctor. During my final year, a new chapter of my life began when I married a fellow Ayurvedic doctor. Sharing the same educational background and passion for Ayurveda allowed us to collaborate and deepen our clinical knowledge. Shortly after, we were blessed with a beautiful daughter, adding joy and motivation to our journey.
Together, my husband and I established the Ved Ayuurvedd & Keraliya Panchakarma Center in Hadapsar, Pune. Our clinic is a sanctuary for those seeking holistic healing and personalized care. We specialize in treating a wide range of conditions, particularly focusing on women’s health issues such as PCOD, PCOS, menopausal disorders, and thyroid problems, as well as male infertility. Our Panchakarma therapies, rooted in traditional Ayurvedic practices, aim to balance the body’s doshas and promote overall well-being. One of the unique offerings at our center is Suvarna Prashan, a traditional Ayurvedic immune-boosting treatment for children that enhances their physical and mental development. Another cornerstone of our practice is Nadi Pariksha, a pulse diagnosis technique that allows us to understand the individual’s physical and emotional state, enabling us to craft tailored treatments. Every day at Ved Ayuurvedd, we witness the transformative power of Ayurveda in our patients’ lives. Whether it’s helping a woman find relief from menopausal symptoms or guiding a couple through infertility challenges, each success story reaffirms my belief in this ancient science. The journey to this point has been one of hard work, perseverance, and immense learning. From moving frequently as a child to navigating the challenges of running a clinic, every experience has shaped me into the person I am today. I am deeply grateful to my parents for their unwavering support, to my husband for being my partner in both life and work, and to my patients who trust us with their health.Ayurveda is not just my profession; it’s my passion and purpose. Through Ved Ayuurvedd, I aim to bring the wisdom of Ayurveda to more people, helping them lead healthier, more balanced lives.
